LRVC is comprised of local veterans and community leaders working to implement the Veteran-focused Together With veterans suicide prevention program in the Lakes Region.

Our History

The Lakes Region Veterans Coalition follows the Together With Veterans (TWV) Rural Suicide Prevention Program funded by the VA Office of Rural Health and supported by the Office of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention. TWV’s guiding principles are Veteran-Driven, Collaborative, Evidence-Informed, and Community-Centered.

The Together With Veterans is a five-phase process to support rural communities in developing a local action plan to prevent Veteran suicide. The five Phases guide the community through identifying Veterans and other key partners; learning about suicide prevention and specific community strengths and needs; and developing and carrying out an effective local Veteran suicide prevention action plan.

Events

Buddy Check Coffee

The LRVC would like to offer anyone who has ever served in the military a chance to virtually connect with a fellow service member by providing each person a free coffee! Just register yourself and another participant and a $5 gift card for a coffee shop will be either mailed or emailed (based on your preference and availability) to both participants. After you receive your gift card, we just ask that you connect with the other person and have a conversation. We can also set you up with a buddy that you do not know. You will receive a $10 gift card if you connect with someone you do not know.
